Introduction & Tuition
Ages 4 to 11 years
Developed by Inga Magid, Keys for Kids provides the perfect musical introduction for young children. Designed as a yearlong course of study, Keys for Kids introduces children to pitch training, rhythm, singing, solfege, and keyboard performance. The School provides keyboards for the group lessons. However, students must have a piano or keyboard at home to practice.
Beginning in Fall 2009, Powers is going to a tri-semester full year program of 33 weeks. Each semester is 11-weeks long. Keys for Kids first semester begins on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, the second semester begins Tuesday, November 10, 2009, and the third semester begins Tuesday, March 9, 2010.
Tuition is due at the time of registration. No refund is available for the 1st semester once registered.
Registration from one semester to the next two semesters is automatic. However, Keys students may drop from the 2nd and 3rd semesters of the program if the school is notified in writing no later than November 7, 2009.
Please note that failure to attend classes or withdraw from the Keys Program by the drop date does not release a parent from his/her financial obligation.
Parent/Caregiver participation at lessons is required for Mini Keys through Kinder Keys levels. Parents/Caregivers do not need prior musical instruction to participate. Parent participation for the Super Keys levels is not required.
Minimum enrollment is 6 students. Levels are divided into three age groups and meet for 45 minutes per week. Classes with less than minimum enrollment may be offered as an ensemble. Ensemble classes meet for 30 minutes per week.
Students with previous piano training may also register. Instructors will recommend the appropriate level.
Students are automatically enrolled from the fall to spring term. Students who do not wish to continue their studies in the spring term must notify the office in writing of their intent to drop the course. Failure to notify the office or failure to attend classes does not release the parent of its financial obligation.
