Introduction & Tuition
Ages 9 years and up
Duration: October - June, 20 classes
Ensemble Chair: Sarah Freiberg
Individual instructors will provide students with specific weekly days and times for ensemble classes for the year. Students will participate in a total of 20 ensemble classes.
Ensemble students flourish as they develop a camaraderie with their ensemble partners, a sense of responsibility to the group, and pride in their accomplishments. Participants are placed with students who share a similar level of experience and ability.
- Classes are one hour in length
- Ensemble disciplines vary and include: chamber, flute, rock, jazz and brass.
- The ensemble program is designed for intermediate to advanced instrumentalists. Students need to be familiar with note reading and basic rhythm. Every effort will be made to place interested students.
- Days/times of music ensembles vary depending on instructor's schedule.
- Students are required to participate in two performances: Stein Chamber Music Festival on Saturday, March 8, 2008 plus one additional performance of choice by instructor.
- Placement is by audition. New students will audition for the ensemble instructors prior to group placement.
- Audition will consist of one prepared piece and one scale of applicant's choice. Sight-reading may be requested.
- Minimum enrollment depends on the specific ensemble.
Audition Dates
Saturday, October 6, 2007 (2:30-5:00 pm)
Wednesday, October 10, 2007 (7:30-9:00 pm)
Sunday, October 14, 2007 (1:00-3:30pm)
Note: Audition times are subject to change. Additional audition times may be added dependent upon demand.
Ensemble Tuition: $420 per year
(Students may elect to pay in installments of $210 per semester. No payment plan fee will be assessed.)
