Mildred Freiberg Piano Festival
Click here to download the 2010 application form.
Mildred Freiberg was a highly esteemed pianist, educator and mentor to many. She was a former Powers Music School Board President and one of the founders of our School. Therefore, it is with great honor that Powers Music School renamed the long-standing Belmont Piano Festival after Mildred P. Freiberg.
Now celebrating its 47th year, this. two-day celebration consists of multiple concerts and has become a tradition for students in grades K-12. In fact, the Festival was the catalyst for the founding of Powers Music School. Over the years, the festival concerts have celebrated both a student's first performance and the exciting accomplishments of more mature artists. A variety of styles and teaching methods are presented through these performances in a non-competitive manner that stimulates the local music community.
Application Process:
- Application forms will be distributed in December. Pianists are invited to perform as soloists and/or in a duet or ensemble. There is no fee for additional instrumentalists or for students who have paid their 2009/10 Powers Music School annual registration fee.
- The application fee may be waived in case of hardship. Piano teachers seeking a waiver should contact the School's Executive and Artistic Director.
