GRAND OPENING OF
Powers Music School is pleased to present our inaugural year of the critically acclaimed program, The Music Class®. This program offers playful and creative music and movement classes that will stimulate our child's musical growth. A parent whose son took the class reported, "The Music Class® has opened up my son's creative side and his language skills are unbelievable for his age. It was on of the most wonderful things we have ever exposed him to!"
Now children in the greater Belmont area can experience the joy of this program at Powers Music School. We offer three semesters during the academic year with each semester lasting 10 weeks. Make-ups, based on class availability, may be available when classes are missed.

Suzuki Musical Kids
Ages 3 ½ - 4 years
This program is designed as a precursor to the Suzuki method of private instruction. Following the Suzuki model, students will work with box instruments to promote muscle and fine motor skill development. The instructor will work with parents to determine when each student is ready to work with a real instrument. This program is a great introduction to a musical instrument and provides a foundation for further study on any instrument. A parent/caregiver is required to attend all classes and will learn how to practice at home with their child.

Dalcroze Eurhythmics
Ages 4 - 5 years
This class helps students develop basic movement and aural skills through music. Dalcroze Eurhythmics is a study of music through movement, developed by Swiss educator Emille Jacques Dalcroze at the turn of the 20th century. Dalcroze realized that true musical understanding and ability required an education of the entire body and not just that of the intellect alone. Eurhythmics is a wonderful way for young people to begin involvement in the world of music. It focuses on musical listening, which in turn inspires creativity and expression. Through movement games, children begin to gain literacy in the language of music, as well as to develop a sense of self-confidence in space, an ability to lead and to follow, and a feeling for the ensemble of a group activity. Eurhythmics is spontaneous and improvisational, allowing each child to create and have a sense of accomplishment as s/he works with the group.
Each Eurhythmics class includes singing and playing instruments, increasing movement skills, and learning multicultural musical traditions as well as Western European repertoire. Classes focus on aural skills, movement, spatial awareness, and social experience.
