Welcome to Powers Music School

Powers Music School has been providing exceptional music instruction and performance opportunities to students since 1964. Now in our 48th year, we remain committed to our mission of helping students and audience members develop a lifelong appreciation and love of music.

Each year, more than 1,000 individuals of all ages and abilities participate in one of our musical programs. Students travel from communities throughout the greater Boston area to study with our talented and dedicated faculty. In addition to music instruction and performance opportunities for students, we offer extensive community outreach programs. These programs include Belmont Open Sings, the Mildred P. Freiberg Piano Festival, the Stein Chamber Music Festival, Lunchtime Faculty Concerts at the Beech Street Center, the Peter Elvins Vocal Competition, and musical story programs for young children.

Whether you are interested in studying music or just enjoying it as an audience member, we truly believe there is something for you at Powers that will inspire and nurture your creative spirit.

Regards,

Helen Clapp Stevenson
Executive and Artistic Director
