POWERS MUSIC SCHOOL OFFERS FREE SAMPLE CLASSES

Experience firsthand one of Powers Music School Early Childhood programs by attending a free sample class! Join registered early childhood students during their first week of class and experience for yourself the benefits of exposure to musical expression for children as young as 16 months.

Free class offerings include Suzuki Musical Kids, which introduces children ages 2 1/2 to 3 years to playing a violin or cello; Dalcroze Eurhythmics, which explores music through body movement, for kids ages 3 to 5 1/2; Singing for Kids, which features group singing and music in movement for children ages 5 1/2 to 7; Musikgarten, designed to awaken a child's natural ability to hear and make music, for toddlers ages 16 months to 3 1/2 years; and Keys for Kids , an introduction to keyboard for children ages 3 to 11.

Powers' Suzuki Musical Kids program expands this year by offering a violin class, in response to the success of its cello class. The free Suzuki Musical Kids sample class is Sunday, Sept. 9. Sample Keys for Kids classes are on Wednesday, Sept. 5 and Thursday, Sept. 6. Free Dalcroze Eurhythmics and Singing for Kids classes are offered Sept. 5, and Musikgarten classes will be held Sept. 6. This weeklong sampling of Early Childhood Music culminates with an Open House and Instrument Petting Zoo on Sunday, Sept. 9, from 2:00 - 5:00 pm. This event is open to students of all ages and is the perfect opportunity to meet Powers' faculty and try an instrument.

No reservations required for the free sample classes or Open House. However, due to space limitations reservations are suggested for the free sample Keys for Kids and Dalcroze Eurhythmics classes.
