Saturday Morning Music School

Amy Belhumeur teaches Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Chorus, and General Music in the Nashoba Regional School District. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Gordon College, and her primary instrument is the double bass. While teaching mostly Band in her weekday gig, this is Ms. Belhumeur's fourth year with Saturday Morning Music School, and she enjoys returning to her string roots with the SMMS students.

Professionally, Ms. Belhumeur strives to stay active and involved, always discovering new ways to bring music to students. She is a member of the National Association for Music Education and the Massachusetts Music Educator's Association. Currently, Ms. Belhumeur is the 2018-19 Comanager of Jazz for the Massachusetts Jr. Central District Festival. She has previously held offices for Collegiate NAfME, and has been an ambassador for MMEA.

As a performer, Ms. Belhumeur has participated in a variety of ensembles: concert band, symphony orchestra, string orchestra, jazz choir, marching band, chamber ensembles, and jazz combos. Some of her notable performing accomplishments include achieving Principal Double Bass for the Gordon College Symphony Orchestra, Gordon College Jazz Ensemble, and her home state's All-State Festival.
