MYSP Preparatory String Orchestra
Aaron Kuan, violinist and conductor, was a member of the inaugural class of the Harvard - New England Conservatory Joint Program. He received an M.M. in violin performance from NEC, where he studied with Donald Weilerstein, a B.A. from Harvard College in Physics, and a Ph.D. from the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. He began his conducting studies with Adam Glaser at the Juilliard Pre-College Program in New York. During his undergraduate studies, he served as the Assistant Conductor of the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra, under James Yannatos, and also conducted the Harvard Brass Ensemble. Aaron served as the music director of the Dudley House Orchestra from 2011-2015. During his tenure, his collaborations included Robert Levin, David Leibman, Lewis Porter, and the Dudley House Chorus and Jazz Bands. Currently, he performs as a violinist and violists with several chamber and orchestral groups in the Boston area, including the Dudley House Orchestra, the Mercury Orchestra, and the Lowell House Opera. In addition to his musical activities, Aaron is a postdoctoral researcher in the Neurobiology Department at Harvard Medical School.
