Morgan Scagliotti photoMorgan Scagliotti teaches violin at Powers Music School. She graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy, Cleveland Institute of Music and earned a full scholarship for her Masters Degree at Boston University. She has performed as a soloist with the Salinas Symphony and the Overland Park Civic Orchestra and has won solo prize competitions in Kansas City, Missouri, Boston, Massachusetts and Detroit, Michigan. In 2008 she was a winner of Boston University’s prestigious J.S. Bach Competition, which culminated in a performance of Solo Sonata No. 3 in C Major by J.S. Bach in Boston, Massachusetts. She has earned fellowships for two summers at ENCORE School for Strings and Kent/Blossom Music Festival, where she studied and performed with members of the Cleveland Orchestra at their summer performance venue, Blossom Music Center. She was also a fellow for two years at Spoleto USA, and Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo, Japan. She has performed solo recitals in Cleveland, Ohio and Boston, Massachusetts, and has studied across the world with members of the Vienna Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic, Kansas City Symphony, Boston Symphony and Cleveland Orchestra. She is a sought after orchestral violinist across New England and is frequently asked to perform with the Cape Cod Symphony, Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra, Rhode Island Civic Chorale and Orchestra. Morgan is a tenured violinist with the Portland Symphony in Portland, Maine. She has previously taught privately and as a strings music teacher in Framingham and Brookline public schools. She has taught privately at the Suzuki Institute of Boston in West Roxbury and Powers Music School since 2010.
