Saxophone

Michael has toured with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra under the direction of Buddy Morrow, and has played on several cruise ships backing up the Platters and The Crystals. He has performed in Italy, France, Spain, Morrocco, Tunisia, Central America and the Caribbean. He debuted at the Regatta Bar in 2006 with New York based Bjorkestra. Currently he is working with Chris Jenkins, jazz guitarist/composer, and Jason Davis, bassist. Michael is currently the Band Director at the Ryan school in Tewksbury. Additionally, he teaches at Zumix in East Boston and at the Brookline Public Schools. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Music from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a minor in Music Theory. He also attended the University of North Texas where he studied classical and jazz saxophone. He has studied with Yusef Lateef, Jeff Holmes, Chris Mertz, Adam Kolker, Ravi Coltrane and George Garzone.
